Yamini Khanna - ' Cheating '

I Whispered sweet nothing's in his ears
set him off, on a shindig anear
Jovial, and again young at heart
he weaved a 'web of lies' so smart

Sneaked out of my life, just when
broke eternal promises, just then
fired his passion, warmed up emotions
singing songs of praise, but out of devotion

Came home, in the wee of the night
love marks hidden away from my sight
Chameleon like changing his skin
A man i didn't know and wasn't akin

That day on, it dawned on me, i realised
a lot, in matters of heart had materialised
he'd found a new ' blanket ' to keep him warm
the 'old' one for him now 'dusty and darned'

Lips singing, heart beating, dreams for the muse
seeing me shriveled and wrecked bemused
his game plan now, to pain and anguish cause
cared very little, faltering steps never retraced or paused

Slow poisoning, intense toxicity
wringing heart, what an atrocity
accept him back, and love resurrect?
serious doubts, about my ' Love's Intellect '

He came home that night
the Funeral of my Love to light
The sacred vows, now inscribed on an Epitaph
Bow down in my' Love Cemetry', with a Black headscarf!
