Description
Kirito from Sword Art Online. He starts off as this really weak and shy person. Doesn't get along well with others, he's kind of a dick and he gets such strong social anxiety that he's basically paralyzed with fear when he has to deal with angry people.
He grows into this incredible hero with a philosophy and worldview that I find myself agreeing with completely. He doesn't let people walk all over him, but he has decided that whenever possible, he will give people the benefit of the doubt and believe in the inherent goodness of most people. He lets the small stuff slide and doesn't give an inch on the big stuff.
That's the kind of man I want to be. I want to be strong for myself, my friends and my family, but I don't want to lose my empathy for other people in the process.
