Description
These eyes are created to care for me to see
These eyes are made to weep for me to feel
They are made to close when not in use, to
Smile when I serve my purpose in life.
These eyes are made to find my inside.
I spend my time complaining about my life
Waste time contemplating about the future
Every morning he cried for help, I would pass him by
Although his crying was loud, invisible he remained
Maybe my eyes chose not to notice.
The sun rises and fall can’t stop wanting more, yet giving less of me.
And all the time my life was not enough, let alone time.
Every time I passed him by…
The world I had defined a home,
Blind folded me in closing these eyes of mine.
Pretend not to see what’s before my sight.
It has taught me to search outside and far for things I needed inside,
to help complete me.
Each morning he cried for help, I would pass him by
Although his crying got louder, still invisible he remained
One unusual morning, whilst busy with my usual ways,
Buying myself out of my own misery.
I heard him and blessed was I, but should his crying not gone softer?
Maybe my eyes chose to notice.
A look of poverty, carelessness, sadness, powerlessness and madness
A reflection of my inside, I could have traveled the world.
In search of the unknown, was there staring back in these very same blind eyes.
These eyes I have trained to seek possessions my outside had no care for.
Acknowledge obligations to save me from myself.
Though time held no principle, it revealed a site where a sight
Understood that…
These eyes are created to care for me to see.
These eyes are meant to weep for me to feel
They are made to close when not in use
To smile when I serve my purpose in life
These eyes are meant to find myself.
