The global domestic appliance industry comprises hundreds of manufacturers involved in the production of various electrical devices ranging from ovens, freezers and dishwashers to vacuum cleaners, washing machines and air conditioners. The manufacturing of domestic appliances is highly fragmented: in the large appliance segment, no group has a global market share in excess of 10%. Rather, the global market consists of regional markets with strong differences in consumer tastes, structure of distribution, manufacturers, brands and product lines.
