X Factor to open up about Gamugate?
Description
Cheryl Cole has apparently asked if, on the first live show, X Factor bosses can address the controversy surrounding Gamu Nhengu, according the Daily Mirror.
After the judge decided not to put the 18-year-old through to her final three girls, Cheryl has had received nasty threats from X Factor fans who disagreed with her decision.
It is unclear whether the Girls Aloud singer made her decision in the knowledge that there were issues with Nhengu's immigration status.
Gamu has been told she must return to her homeland of Zimbabwe after her mother's visa application was turned down.
Meanwhile, a member of the Scottish Parliament, Fiona Hyslop MSP, has written a letter to Home Secretary Theresa May to ask her to think again about allowing Gamu to stay in the country.
According the Sky News, her letter said:
"Gamu has demonstrated that she is a hugely talented singer and a great asset to Scotland and the country's music scene.
"She has already won the hearts of many Scots, who wish her to remain in Scotland."
