Wolfie God - Sudden Darkness
7 Views • Jun 15, 2014
Description
Her darkness attracts me to her.
She awaits me to call out to her,
I stare waiting keeping my lips pinched.
The night fog slowly settles in like a giant for a nap,
Her breath is sweet with midnight dew.
I want to be part of her every sunset,
See all those people on the ground wasting time.
I drift to a place alone in my mind, soft and sculpting my thought.
Maybe knowing nothing is better than knowing it all.
Instincts kick in and my breaths grow short,
My eyes scan across a bewildering room.
Darting quickly objects move around the shadows,
Short and slipping through the darkness they scatter.
Is this madness, I slowly take part of?
Shapes disfigure into forms, watching me now.
My heart pounds in my chest, my breathing erratic.
Sounds ring in my ears, almost distant and echoing.
I stare out the window again, the human shapes shift into blurs,
Tears of blood weep from my eyes and nostrils,
It seems to stop my chest, only to hear your voice stop again.
Like ice I melt into my chair, slowly easing back.
My mind races with thoughts of you.
Will you ever come back to me, my life that I knew?
The band grows weary of playing, and I tired of listening.
Water drops from the roof hit the sill, retaining my conscious thought.
So deep it didn’t even bleed and catch me.
I will be fine, pretending I’m not.
Slowly those words fade into a blur in my mind.
My screams could not leave me, the tiredness takes over.
I grow weary, the rope tightens.
Longing for a lost love,
I take my final step.
