Description

There once was a man named George Simon Ohm
he didn’t go to school he stayed at home
his dad taught him well his name still resounds
in apprentice text books or how a speaker sounds
4ohm 6ohm or 8ohm beat
gets folks tapping or dancing on their feet.

electricians think in volts or ohms
and how to get power into old folks homes
sometimes resistance gets in the way
like keeping you in bed with nothing much to say,
electric current flows every hour
lets light shine or motors power
boots your putah back into life
sometimes blows a fuse like your dear loving wife
you can lose your temper at the flick of a switch
then you realise it’s a temporary hitch
as the tongue sounds in a different pitch.
till it turns again and you feel quite cool.

volts and currents flowing down cables
in grandiose homes or horse’s stables
if you’re not careful you can get quite a shock
and leave the body cold with no tick or tock,
out of the blue it can give you a surprise
in multicoloured lasers lighting up the skies
or sparks within and lights up your eyes
and you see things different in a different light
even in the dark of a moonless night
as all the senses connect reformed
and the whole wide world stands transformed
in subtle connections never seen before
you stand all alone in majestic awe,
the world becomes one, this must be heaven,
are you sure you’re not lost, don’t you live at number seven?
says the tinker in the mind who only disbelieves
who catches people cold with the web that he weaves,
then you scratch your head and wonder in surprise,
as the world turns circles;
like the circles in your eyes.
