William Richard Torvaney - Spray
3 Views • Jun 14, 2014
Description
wave of the wild North Sea
spray flashes round the Spindle
dear to the heart of me.
Crag and breaker and pierhead
mist o'er the morning bay
wrenching the cloak of sable
just for the nonce away.
Would that through Life's short journey
each day and night be spent
with the winds and the waves and the woodlands
and the great sky for our tent.
For whether we bask in the sunlight
or gasp in the rude March gale
there's a glorious zest that stirs us
when Pleasure's minions fail.
