William Jackson - The Learning Curve

Alas, the brash youth.
He bartered with the devil
the very life he sought to keep.

Usurping the Life that created him,
he gave up the blessings of God.

What a foolish Dorian Gray!
Like unthinking Esau
he traded his birthright
for the lust and sparkle
of the immediate moment.

Sadly, he failed to grasp that his life
never belonged to him anyway,
and now that which he feared the most
has become his reality.

If only he chosen to forever dwell
in the one Life animating all things
and holding them together.

Then like Moses,
even in his old age,
he could walk,
with a spring in his step
and a twinkle in his eye.
