William Branham vs Genesis 2

Genesis 2 continues the Bible's account of the creation of all things, an account that is fundamental to the Christian religion. Though some people hold different views of the starting point and duration, most Christians agree that this is the origin of not only mankind but the universe itself. William Branham is generally described as being a very rigid fundamentalist teaching a literalist view of the Bible. When evaluating Branham's doctrine, one must evaluate it against the literal view instead of the symbolic for his creation theology.

Later versions of William Branham's stage persona were in disagreement with significant portions of Genesis 2, and part of that disagreement continues in verse 4. In those versions, Branham took issue with the phrase "these are the generations", claiming that Earth's origins were that of recreation instead of creation.

In Genesis 1:1, it said, 'In the beginning God created heavens and earth' period. See? That's all. Now, the world without form and void." This statement would imply that William Branham believed in recreation instead of creation. Branham's usage of the phrase "other civilization" is in direct conflict with the statement declaring the account in Genesis 2 included "generations" instead of a single "generation". Branham used the word "civilization" instead of "generation" and used it in the singular context.

Branham also took issue with verse 22. While the Biblical narrative describes God creating both the male and the female, William Branham's creation theology did not. According to William Branham, only the male was created by God. Women, according to William Branham, were designed by Satan. He also disagreed with verse 18, which described the purpose of the female. According to Branham, women were created for the purposes of sex.

What is she made this way for? For deception. Every sin that ever was on the earth was caused by a woman.
