Willem VanVoorthuysen - Precious Privilege

Returning home from volunteering as a kitchen aide,
who helped much older people get warm meals,
you could not sleep at night, because your little feet
were hurting you so badly, that I felt honored
to lovingly massage them, as gently as I could,
meanwhile enjoying your grateful oohs and ahs,
and big, relaxing yawns, and finally, my royal fee:
a thankful hug and countless kisses.

Oh, how I wish that I could take those lovely little feet
into my hands again, massage and kiss them,
and hear you whisper sleepily, 'I love you, Billyboy...'
But you are peacefully asleep in Heaven, now
awaiting patiently that Happy Morning, when we
shall finally be together again, to live for all Eternity
in God's new New Universe, predicted by the Bible,
sealed by The Holy Spirit's presence in our hearts.
