Will we see a crack-up boom?
Description
Watch the full 24-minute video at http://www.goldmoney.com/polleit-turk-interview. Thorsten Polleit, http://thorstenpolleit.com, and James Turk, Director of the GoldMoney Foundation, talk about the potential for a crack-up boom or a hyperinflationary crisis. They talk about the degree of confidence in fiat currencies and the possibility of a flight from currency. Thorsten explains that he still sees institutional investors still very confident in fiat money, they still consider cash and bonds “safe” assets, a confidence that will prove very misguided if the system is not reformed.
Thorsten explains that current problems are man-made and can therefore be solved but that it depends on what ideas are dominant, if inflationist theories and policies are seen as a solution by people, the problems will persist. They talk about some possible solutions put forward by Murray Rothbard and Ludwig von Mises.
This interview was recorded on October 1st 2011 in Vienna.
