Rise up, you gentle heroes: rise up and sing a song.
Sing of the future, now: your dreams shall carry you along.

Ignore doubts sown by enemies who lead you to your fate: .
Destiny holds out a hand: seize it, do not wait.

Congratulate each other: you make a merry crowd;
Lift up your voices freely; sing both long and loud.

Drums fade, bugles sour: : 'twas but a futile dream.
Retreat, you craven subjects. Elections come again.
