Although the day was full of grace,
I frowned because your face
Was not there.

The sky was denim-blue,
The breeze cloying, but you
Were not there.

Summer comes apace;
I would rejoice,
Were you here.

Clouds close the sky,
Again; this is why I
Need you here.
