Why Touching Stories helps developmental disabilities

People with developmental disabilities may not have the cognitive ability to understand the WORDS of a story, but they do experience stories by other senses. Touching Stories creates hand-built story kits so those with special needs can see, feel, hear and smell the parts of stories written just for them, starring people just like them. Created by two women working out of their dining room, Touching Stories hand-builds tactile story kits that bring people out of their shells and help them connect, engage and grow within their community.
