Why Is SPCE Trading Lower Today?

After falling 17% on Monday, shares of Virgin Galactic ($SPCE@US) continued to plummet after the company announced a $500 million shelf offering of common stock. Their owner, Richard Branson, successfully reached space on Sunday, but it appears their stock will not be following suit. Shares of the space tourism company were down 6.8% at press time.
