Why Does Food Taste Different On Airplanes?
Description
If you’ve ever traveled through airplane, you may have noticed your taste changes. According to Business Insider, factors of being so high up suppress your sense of smell. The dryness in the cabins dry out nasal passages, making your taste buds less perceptive. Additionally, low cabin pressure decreases the levels of oxygen in your blood, making your olfactory receptors less sensitive. Apart from that, the noise from the engine can reduce sensitivity to sweet and salty food.
