Filipinos will once again commemorate this month the assassination of opposition leader Benigno Aquino Jr, a crime so brutal and brazen it was committed out in the open on an airport tarmac, on an early afternoon, right next to a plane full of passengers and an airport crawling with soldiers, airline and airport employees, and well-wishers. ABS-CBN will revisit the Aquino assassination: review thousands of court documents and evidence, pursue numerous leads, and establish the connections between the powers that be of the Marcos dictatorship in a bid to understand why it was the perfect crime, and which mastermind or masterminds have escaped conviction for three decades.
