Whitney Albright - 'Royalty'

Description
How could the most holy man that ever walked upon our earth be considered even less than a man or less than anything?
Such a life was not suitable for a king of his being.
Nobody noticed the people he was freeing.
And oh, it makes me enraged, yet furious.
Why would his people make him out to be so spurious?
There were no diamonds dangling from his ears.
No luxurious jewels did appear.
Not a ruby or sapphire or garnet, not even a crown.
He had no respect for his renown.
Think of the garments a king would wear.
Now picture a man so desolate, so bare.
My king should have been clothed in royal purple linen and silk.
The people denied a man of his ilk.
Oh, but he should have been given a variety of furs.
This man should have been showered from head to toe in myrrh.
No one fell to bow at his feet.
Only few would consider him elite.
Most of the world found it rather easy to fill their hearts with malice.
To me, this man should have owned a palace.
But his people, his own, placed nails in his hands!
To this very day, I don’t understand.
How grateful am I that he died for his own!
My king deserved to dwell at his throne.
His people were forever saved.
Christ loved them so much he took it to his grave.
Many centuries later, I worship him for his valor in danger.
My father to me is no stranger.
I honor and love him with all my loyalty.
People of the world, did you know that we are royalty?
