White House defends Libya action
Description
Demonstrators take to the streets in Benghazi as they decry the Libyan government's role in a U.S. raid in the capitol Tripoli.
U.S. forces snatched Abu Anas al-Liby -- who is wanted in connection with the bombings of the U.S. embassy in Nairobi 15 years ago.
Now the Western backed Libyan government is facing a backlash in Benghazi.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) PROTESTOR, ABU KATADA, SAYING:
"The reason we are out on the street is because the puppet government used our Libyan brothers to arrest our brother. So it's a failed government. If they won't release our brother soon more people will be out on the streets."
White House spokesman Jay Carney offered few details.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) WHITE HOUSE SPOKESMAN JAY CARNEY SAYING:
"Abu Anas al Libi was arrested and he is in U.S. custody. I don't have more details for you about where he is. The operations were conducted as you know by the U.S. military under the authority conferred by the authorization to
