169 Views • Jan 05, 2019
Description
The NY Times and Politico report that the White House is considering nominating Jim Webb, former Virginia senator, as Secretary of Defense.
In addition to being Senator and a decorated war veteran, Webb is also a Reagan-era secretary of the Navy.
Mr. Webb was an outspoken opponent of the Iraq war.
Three sources tell the Times align closely with Mr. Trump’s drive to pull American troops from the Middle East.
Webb also feels the U.S. should confront China more aggressively.
