While Ecuador Debate Proceeds, Opposition Marches in the Streets

Rejecting Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa's call for a national debate on proposed inheritance and capital gains taxes, opposition mayor of Guayaquil Jaime Nebot led a mass demonstration Thursday in the country's largest city. Social organizations, meanwhile, are moving ahead with the debate, raising awareness on the importance of the progressive fiscal measures.
