Where Snakes Go In The Winter?

Snakes are not usually seen in the winter but where do they go? Where do they hide to escape winter? Snakes goes in hibernation. Hiding inside caves, behind stones, inside house basement and many other places. The place needs to provide adequate warmth so that the snake can survive. Snakes body functions reduces to great extent so that they can live with the remaining energy while they are hibernating. This is an evolutionary benefit.
