When Should Voters Pay Attention To The Polls?

The general election is just six months away.
The polls show that Joe biden is leading Donald Trump nationally.
However, polling and election analysis website fivethirtyeight wondered "when should voters start looking at the polls?"
According to them the answer is not straight forward.
"There’s actually a pretty big debate over just how meaningful early general election polls are."
Fivethirtyeight did their own analysis of early polling and found an equal amount of accuracies and inconsistencies.
"So look at the early polls but know that they are subject to change."
