When Kids Kill - Schoolboy Slayer

William Cornick was born on 26 June, 1998.

While his parents were separated, the young man was raised in a supportive, loving environment.

In court, Cornick was described as being a "reserved but amicable, enthusiastic, and a conscientious" student, with the teen successfully undertaking a number of exams in Year 11.

He was diagnosed with diabetes in 2010, meaning he would not be able to follow his dream of going into the army.

Two months before his 16th birthday, the court heard his "completely irrational" feelings of anger towards Ann Maguire began to intensify, with the young student previously having told friends that he wanted to kill the teacher.

Before the murder, he wrote to a friend telling him: "the one absolute f***ing bitch that deserves more than death more than pain torture and more than anything that we can understand."

On 28 April 2014 he arrived at school armed with two knives - fatally plunging the blade into the back of his Spanish teacher Ann seven times.

The teen was jailed for life over the horrific crime.

Psychologists described the young man as having "a gross lack of empathy for his victim and a degree of callousness rarely seen in clinical practice" with one consultant child and adolescent forensic psychiatrist saying they could not exclude the possibility that the teen would kill again.

Prior to the fatal stabbing of his teacher, Cornick only had a handful of misdemeanours to his name.
