TikTok has over 1 billion monthly active users and is dominating the iOS App Store. TikTok lets users easily share short funny clips often of people dancing. The app has produced countless memes involving VSCO Girls, Old Town Road, and Spooky Scary Skeletons. Even TikTok dance compilations have millions of views on YouTube. But its rise hasn't been seamless. TikTok has been criticized by US senators for censorship, privacy, and child safety. Because TikTok is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance there are concerns that TikTok might censor content that doesn't appease China. Although TikTok has stated that it handles moderation separately for different regions. So what's going on with TikTok?
