What is Your Greatest Defense

This is your greatest defense. Everything God created he gave a means of defense
He gave a rose thorns. He gave a bull horns. He gave fish with fins. He gave a snake venom. But then he commanded us to love—to love our enemies.
My question is this: Did God just leave us with no defense?
Or is love actually our best defense? I think it’s the latter.
