What is the Hatch Act?
Description
Kellyanne Conway violated a federal law prohibiting government employees from engaging in political activity in their official capacity, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel announced on Tuesday. The 1939 law, called the Hatch Act, prohibits federal employees from using their official authority to try to interfere or influence an election or to impact the outcome of the election while in duty.
