What is the Difference Between DWI and DUI?

DWI and DUI are basically the same. In North Carolina it is DWI but in some other states it is DUI. Historically DUI was driving under the influence of alcohol but now it is alcohol and drugs. Some states don't use DWI or DUI but talk about OVWI - operating a vehicle while impaired. But they're all basically the same and refer to impaired driving from alcohol or drugs.
