What is Forest Bathing

Description
Forest Bathing is being one with nature through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. Most of us have the popping image of a sweaty hike on a trip to woods when we hear the word 'Forest Bathing'. But forest bathing is experienced at a much slower pace and the focus is laid on immersing oneself with nature.
Forest bathing originated in Japan in the 1980s, and Japanese called it 'Shinrin-Yoku', as such Shinrin from Japanese translated to “forest” and yoku to “bath.” Shinrin-yoku is like a bridge and by opening our senses, it bridges the gap between us and the natural world.
To begin forest bathing select a natural spot and walk aimlessly and slowly, listen to your body and where it wants to take you. It does not matter if you are not getting anywhere, because you are savoring the sounds, smells, and sights of nature and letting the forest in. So leave your phone and camera behind and let your soul be the guide to yourself.
