Description
In 1922, Moto Guzzi built a motorcycle with one gearbox shaft mounted above the other, which made the engine shorter. That was the origin of the vertically stacked gearbox, which we now see on pretty much every high-performance sportbike, the visual giveaway being a high-mounted clutch.
