In a span of two weeks, three major banks have announced stock splits. State Bank of India (SBI), announced a 10-for-1 stock split, the board of Punjab National Bank approved 5-for-1 stock split and ICICI Bank Ltd announced its 5:1 stock split. So far this year, seven banks and 69 other companies have also announced splits, according to data by Capitaline. But what is stock split? Watch animated explainer to find out.
