What Is A Preliminary Injunction

My name is Amanda Szpakowski. I am the Family Law legal assistant here at the Bornmann Law Group. I specialize in anything family law-related; custody, visitation, father's rights, anything family law.

During the divorce process where we file with the court, we file what's called a Preliminary Injunction. This prohibits either party from leaving the state with the minor child. If either party does leave the state with the minor child, the police then become involved and it becomes a matter which could result in jail time.
