When you consider the origins of the modern PC, the advancement of portable music players, and more recently the evolution of the mobile phone; there is no question that Apple has made a significant contribution to the world of technology. I would say the same thing if Microsoft were the company in question. While it takes a company to create a product, it takes a community to build an "ecosystem" around it.
