What did I bring back with me

It was meant to be a typical night—just water, bed, and sleep. But when I accidentally dropped my stuffed toy from the top bunk, I was in for a surprise. There she was, a pale woman crouched by the closet, unmoving… until she looked up. I don’t know if I dreamed it, but I still remember her eyes in the dark. And every time I wake at midnight, I wonder if she’ll be there again.
