WeRide Expands Into Belgium With Robobus Launch

WeRide expanded into Belgium by launching its Robobus in Leuven, its 11th global market, according to Benzinga. The company plans to test vehicles on public roads in mid-September, with a pilot service running from November to January 2026. If approved, it would be Belgium’s first commercial deployment of autonomous vehicles in mixed traffic. WeRide also launched 24/7 driverless Robotaxi operations in Guangzhou, offering point-to-point ride-hailing through its app. The company is advancing next-gen tech like WePilot AiDrive, co-developed with Bosch, while facing heavy competition from Pony AI. Shares rose 1.61% to $9.49 in premarket on Thursday.
