Welcome dinner + Samjiyon Orchestra performances

Day one of the summit was also marked by a concert by North Korea's famous Samjiyeon Orchestra, the same group that performed multiple times in South Korea earlier this year.
There was also the welcoming banquet -- apparently a good time, because it went well past its scheduled time.

The first day of President Moon Jae-in's three-day visit to Pyeongyang, where he is holding his third summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, ended with a reception dinner at renowned restaurant Mokran House.

Kim delivered a speech before he gave a toast wishing for the health of President Moon and First Lady Kim Jung-sook.
He also vowed to implement thoroughly April 27 Panmunjom Declaration.

"I heartfully welcome President Moon Jae-in and First Lady Kim Jung-sook who are visiting Pyeongyang with such high hopes and willingness to achieve peace and prosperity on the Korean peninsula. Here in Pyeongyang, where the 6.15 and 10.4 Declarations were unveiled, and which brought hopes for peace and prosperity, were made, I feel much honored for such important responsibility."

To Kim Jong-un's heartfelt greeting, President Moon responded with equally emotional words.

"This is just the beginning. We can make a future that no one has thought possible. Our cooperation will cross continents and borders, reaching Russia, Europe, ASEAN countries and India. Chairman Kim and I will work together to accomplish this. We will discuss ways for development in the military, economic, social and cultural areas and also completely eliminate fears of war and tension between the two Koreas."

President Moon stressed the trust and friendship the leaders of South and North share, as he reminded the dinner guests he is the third South Korean president to visit North Korea's capital Pyeongyang.
He also stressed that complete denuclearization and establishing permanent peace on the Korean peninsula is a crucial agenda.
The dinner ended at 10:53 Korea standard time, nearly two hours later than expected.

Tuesday's dinner comes after the two leaders attended an art performance by North Korea's Samjiyon Orchestra and singers.
The art troupe welcomed the South Korean delegation by singing the song "Bangapseumnida", or ‘Nice to Meet You" in English.
