Weidman outpoints Machida to retain title

Chris Weidman defeated Lyoto Machida by unanimous decision in UFC 175 to retain his middleweight championship. Weidman brought out his trademark fast start against the former light heavyweight champion, and by the third round, the fight looked like it was all in Weidman’s favor. But in the championship rounds, Machida displayed a sense of urgency, and even finished the bout with a manic flurry of strikes.
