I lied.
I did not mean to but the moment took over,
And now I’m covering tracks,
Shuffling crisp leaves with my hand over where my story came.
I’ve missed a spot.
I cried.
I did not mean to but the moment took over,
And now I’m clearing the tracks of tears,
Smoothing my hand over clear crystal on moist cheeks.
I’ve missed a spot.
I tried.
I really meant to but the moment took over,
And now I’m losing track of well-wishers to avoid,
Smiling curtly or turning away, it’s them I pretend
Not to spot.
I’m not satisfied-
I mean, with letting the moment take over,
And now I’m tracing the steps of many a track,
Setting my hands over the blank page to write- it’s clear,
Not a spot.
