On patrol in Serbia.

A police vehicle makes it way through the flood waters, making its way to villages and towns that have been flooded for days.

In parts of the country streets have literally become rivers.

Houses have been hit.

At least one person has died.

Rescue teams do what they can to reach those in need.

The government has declared a state of emergency in three eastern municipalities.

Those who have been hit say they have never seen anything like it.

(SOUNDBITE) (Serbian) GRABOVICA RESIDENT, MARIJAN KUKULOVIC, SAYING:

"Well, I am 67 years old, and even people older than me do not remember something like this. There was something when I was kid, but much less -- like this - I never seen it."

In May severe floods killed 57 people in Serbia, washing away bridges and homes and ravaging the country's infrastructure.
