Description

Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder, is a mental health condition characterized by the presence of two or more distinct personality states or "alters". These alters can each have their own unique patterns of thinking, behaving, and feeling, and may take control of the person's behavior at different times. DID is a controversial diagnosis, often associated with severe trauma in childhood.
