Sting cancels upcoming award show appearance and postpones future shows due to illness. News of the cancellation and the postponed shows broke on Tuesday when a statement was posted to his Instagram, reading 'On advisement from his doctor, due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday and postpone his STING 3.0 concerts in Phoenix, AZ (originally scheduled for January 24) to June 1 and Wheatland, CA (originally scheduled for January 26) to May 28 as well as his performance at the Cherrytree Music Company's 20th anniversary, now taking place May 29.' The 73-year-old musician is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony tomorrow in Santa Ana, California, and is currently still set to perform at the FireAid benefit concert in California next week. All tickets for the postponed shows will remain valid for their new dates. Musician Garth Hudson dies at 87. The last surviving member of Canadian-American rock group The Band passed away on Tuesday in his sleep at a nursing home in New York. His passing was revealed in a social media post on The Band's official Instagram, writing 'A musical genius and cornerstone of the group's timeless sound, Garth once said, 'I found some true enjoyment in helping people get to the bottom of their feelings.' Through his music, he did just that--helping us all feel more deeply and connect to something greater.' The Band originally formed in the 1960s, serving as a backing group for singer Ronnie Hawkins, and later Bob Dylan. Hudson was the last of its original members to join the group, playing with bandmates Robbie Robertson, Richard Manuel, Rick Danko, and Levon Helm until their split in 1976. The group got back together in 1983 without Robertson, and continued to collaborate until Danko's death in 1999. TV personality Lo Bosworth engaged to boyfriend Domenic Natale. The 38-year-old alumni of The Hills announced the engagement on Instagram Tuesday, sharing a photo alongside her new fiancé and writing 'For you, my darling, it could only be a 'yes.' Thank you for being the best that one could be, for me.' The couple has remained private throughout the course of their relationship, making it unclear how long they have been together. After an overflow of kind regards and congratulations, Bosworth thanked friends and fans in the comment section of her post, writing 'Wow, people love LOVE. Thanks all for the kindest words of all time.' National Polka Dot Day is celebrated. Celebrated annually on January 22, National Polka Dot Day celebrates the iconic spotted pattern that has become a staple in fashion all around the globe. Regularly worn by stars such as Marilyn Monroe, as well as fashion icon Anna Wintour, polka dots have become a bold fashion statement over the years, regularly being used in both casual and formal attire. With award show season just kicking off, keep an eye out for different polka dot patterns on the red carpet, and use them as inspiration for your own style. National Blonde Brownie Day is also recognized. Also known as blondies, blonde brownies are a delicious and simple-to-make treat for those who may not desire to indulge in a fudge brownie. Made with brown sugar rather than cocoa, blondies are rich in flavor and thick in texture. Celebrate the holiday by whipping up a batch of your own and digging in for dessert. In today's birthday news: Singer Steve Perry 76, director Jim Jarmusch 72, actress Linda Blair 66, actress Diane Lane 60, celebrity chef Guy Fieri 57, actor Gabriel Macht 53, actor Balthazar Getty 50, WNBA basketball player Caitlin Clark 23, singer Sam Cooke would be 94.
