How to Make Wajik, a Popular Indonesian Dessert

In this video I make Wajik for the first time. I love this Indonesian dessert and have always wanted to know how it was made. I hope you give it a try. There are only 5 ingredients. Keep smiling! \r

Wajik Resep\r
Bahan-bahan\r
500 gram ketan putih\r
350 ml santan\r
200-400 gram gula merah disisir\r
3 lembar daun pandan \r
1/2 sdt garam\r
\r
Langkah\r
Rendam ketan 1 jam.\r
Kukus hingga matang,angkat dan dinginkan sebentar. Kira-kira 15 menit.\r
Masak santan, gula merah, daun pandan dan garam hingga mendidih dan gula merah larut, aduk rata. Matikan api.\r
Masukan beras ketan ke dalam santan. Aduk rata hingga santan meresap.\r
Kukus lagi ketan yang sudah tercampur dengan gula merah, biar lebih empuk. Kira-kira 10 menit.\r
Masukkan dalam loyang yang telah dialasi plastik sambil ditekan dan dipadatkan.\r
Biarkan dingin baru dipotong. Selamat mencoba….ya! :) \r

Wajik Recipe\r
Ingredients\r
2.5 cups sticky rice\r
1.5 cups coconut cream\r
1 1/4 cup packed brown sugar\r
3 pandan leaves (pandan extr) you may substitute vanilla \r
1/2 tsp salt\r
\r
Directions\r
Soak rice for 1 hour.\r
Steam rice until it is soft. About 15 minutes. Cool briefly.\r
Cook the coconut cream, brown sugar, pandan leaves and salt until it begins to boil and the brown sugar is dissolved. Turn off the stove.\r
Add the rice and stir until evenly coated.\r
Steam rice again for about 10 minutes.\r
Cover your dish with plastic. Add the rice and press until firm.\r
Let cool. Cut. And enjoy! :)\r
