Greenwich Village, New York City--After the shooting of I Am Legend in Washington Square and a Supreme Court ruling, New Yorkers's legal attempts to protect their patrimoine have failed and the Parks Dept, goaded by NYU, proceed to destroy Washington Square. In this scene dismantling of the century and a half old fountain takes place.
