Description
Kevin Warsh's Senate confirmation hearing for Federal Reserve chair lasted over two hours, with senators questioning his financial assets, divestment plans, and Fed independence. Warsh stressed Fed independence and avoided commenting on Trump's effort to fire Governor Lisa Cook and a criminal probe tied to a Fed construction project. Senator Thom Tillis said he will block the nomination until the DOJ probe is resolved. Warsh said Trump has not asked him to promise rate cuts.
