Walmart Filed A Patent For Virtual Stores

Walmart is apparently looking to bring the in store shopping experience online. According to Business Insider, the company has filed a patent for a virtual-reality technology.

The virtual stores would potentially allow shoppers to explore a 3-D representation of the company's stores. Adding a virtual item to a basket would put it in a virtual shopping cart. When a customer checks out, those items would be sent much like any other online shopping order.

The retailer has been discussing virtual reality's promise for a while now.
