Bridgend Council has said it will join the Welsh Government’s empty homes scheme, aimed at reducing the number of unused properties in the area. The plans allow property owners to apply for up to £25,000 for renovations to the properties to increase the number of affordable homes across the country.

A number of academics and performers have spoken out against the proposed take over of Cardiff’s St David’s Hall. There have been talks of private company AMG taking over the venue, which has been hotly debated, with an American professor, who has had his own talks at the hall saying it would be a ‘great shame’ if it fell to public hands.

A man has been arrested in connection to vandalism of a local football field at Betterment Park in Cwm. Gwent Police have said the 23 year old has been questioned after off-road motorbikes caused significant damage to the pitch on 5th February. Police inquiries are still ongoing.
