Vyapam scam: Cop hangs himself

Ramakant Panda, a police constable, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Madhya Pradesh as he was questioned by the Special Task Force (STF) in regard to the Vyapam scam. Yesterday, Anamika Kushwaha a trainee Sub Inspector committed suicide by jumping into a small lake in front of her police training academy in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. Kushwaha was recruited through the Vyapam programme in 2014. On Saturday, a TV journalist Akshay Singh died mysteriously soon after having interviewed the parents of Namrata Damor, an accused in the scam, whose body had been found near railway tracks in Ujjain district on January 7, 2012.
