This new screening could soon help diagnose Parkinson’s and monitor patient symptoms over the course of the disease’s progression. While the test may not be available for a few more years, the results are very promising and early tests indicated 86% accuracy. Early detection can help doctors treat and slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s is the most common degenerative disease of the central nervous system. It typically begins on one side of the body and eventually causes full-body rigidity. Voice changes are one of the early signals of Parkinson’s.
