Vision Ghost - Door Locked from the Other Side

A road I trod and a destiny that can never be undone
Another burning bridge smoulders in my wake as one
Who will never see love through to my dying day again
Exhausted and so concluded that all I ever feel is pain

Ice of her once loving embrace shivers me to the bone
As the bitterness resulting from hurt sets in to be alone
Again and again as heart after heart I have many broken
Stomach turns in the recognition of another dark token

Bestowed upon my dreams as mine lie so shattered
As does my heart in so many pieces so very rendered
To always wonder on away from the screaming voice
That once spoke my name in such a timeless rejoice

The door is locked from the other side and now I am
Something that never grew up like gods lonely lamb
Forever surrendered to the stigmata of such influences
Making me a bitter man inside for living consequences

Always and forever as so many promised me ‘til now
The sweat of the tears of the crying is upon my brow
The heart beats on though my legs are too weak to walk
And the memories of the time once shared I shall stalk

Door stands before me as the crossing has now collapsed
Leaving the river of blood of my bleeding tears relapsed
And such sentiments fall on deafened sense of her life
I see her in my mind in such joys as I lie here in strife

Allowing myself to be drunk on the wine I can’t afford
Wishing myself to end the days with the sharpest sword
Though I am so afraid of what lies yonder, I am coward
Forever wishing to be the knight though I forever steward

Drunk and foolish in the wake of emotions solemn grip
Shout and scream to a world that always sees me trip
And fall to no net of safety and now my body is broken
As is my heart to which these words remain unspoken
